Date Night
I can't tell you who you should love or lust after in life.
The question of "who" is up to you, and I hope you choose well.
They say life is short, but sometimes it can feel really long when you make the wrong decision.
We live in a fast paced world where you can engage with and chat with people online without first meeting them. And depending on the circumstance, we can meet someone twice, online and in the real world.
But you can only get one chance to make a first impression, and it is always when you meet for the first time.
So, if you are getting ready for date night, my advice is never to kiss a fool and never, ever let a kiss fool you.
And dress causally or semi-formally with an explicit intent to impress.
Before you utter a word or hopefully get to a goodnight kiss, your date will learn everything they need to learn about you by eyeing your outfit.
Your date night outfit will reveal your innermost thoughts, personality, feelings, and intentions if you don't learn to control the nonverbal language of fashion.
Fashion is a universal nonverbal language, and we are all fluent in it - whether we realize it or not. Some experts study how our clothes speak for us and unwittingly betray secrets. For instance:
If you buy clothing that doesn't match the reality of your present age, you may come off as immature or impulsive.
If you look uncomfortable in new-looking clothes, you may be a homebody who doesn't get out much or enjoy dressing up.
Your shoes' aesthetic and physical state could betray your vocation, how often you walk, or if you are gaudy or flashy.
How you wear your clothes could reveal to your date if you are employed, temperamental, easygoing, ambitious, or someone who settled on their lot in life.
Some experts believe that human communication is at least 70% to 93% nonverbal. You communicate and convey information with others far more with your facial and physical mannerisms than you ever could with words.
Your date night outfit will tell your date everything they need to know about you long before you open your mouth.
But don't worry, we’ve got you covered. Here is what to know when it comes to how to dress and accessorize for date night.

No Red Lipstick on First Dates
Whatever you do, ladies, never wear red lipstick on a first date.
Wear a light pink, peach, lightly hued lipstick or translucent lip gloss if you want to come off as feminine, approachable, and non-aggressive. Translucent or nude lipstick presents you as a blank slate and tells your date they have a lot to learn about you.
Red lipstick could make you look like an overbearing, aggressive, and high-maintenance attention seeker.
Wearing red lipstick could mistakenly infer the impression that you are into your date more than you really are.
If you do go with the red lipstick, ensure you wear the smudge-proof kind. Lipsticks smear and smudge a lot, and red lipstick will be more noticeable. You will get red lipstick marks on your food, cups, and cutlery as you eat.
Depending on your makeup brand, you may need to pause your date a few times to touch up your makeup.
No one is insinuating that wearing red lipstick implies that you must give yourself to someone on the first date. We are saying that it is a very bold color and statement that could visually imply an affection or attraction that has not been established yet.
So, save the red lipstick for at least the second or third date.
Gentleman Tactics
There are several ways to act like a gentleman on a date. And remember that your actions speak louder than words.
Never treat or pressure a woman like she owes you anything more beyond enjoying your company on the date.
Meet or pick up your date on time. Never keep a lady waiting. Show up late, and you will show her that you are self-centered and indifferent to the efforts of others, whether you mean it or not.
Listen to her talk. Be an active listener. Pay attention to her outfit and accessories - her outfit and makeup, or lack thereof, will tell you everything you need to know. But if you are lucky, she may tell you everything you need to know about her verbally, so pay attention and let her speak.
Make an effort to wear a casual or semi-formal outfit with nice shoes and watch. Trust us; she will take notice and be impressed. The small things matter to women.
Form Fitting Garments
Wear dark-colored or earth-tone-hued clothing if you wear form-fitting outfits that show off your physique.
Use strategic accessories like scarves, belts, or a purse to accentuate your form-fitting look.
Take the time to model in front of the mirror at home before settling on an outfit.
Make Sure Purses and Bags Are Clean and Polished
Your polished purse tells the world you pay attention to detail regarding fashion and that you are a stickler for cleanliness.
Aesthetically Balance Clothing With Accessories
Before you get ready for your date, line up two or three potential outfits on hangers or your bed.
Study the potential outfits that you plan to wear. Think about the nonverbal language of fashion. What does each outfit say about you? Which one would you like your date to see you wearing for the first time?
Strategically consider the accessories that you would pair and balance with each outfit and then pick a finalist.
If you are going minimalist with the amount of clothing you wear, then go very bold with your accessories.
If you wear an outfit composed of layers of clothing, be subtle and minimalist with your accessories.
